A short video of Laura created by Jaime Stein about the technique and how Laura began needle felting sculptures.

Laura begins each piece by sculpting a densely formed frame that conveys the musculature and skeletal structure of the animal.  This is important as there are no internal armatures for support. Next a shape unique to the specific species or breed is sculpted. Lastly, the color and textural coat treatments that represent the distinctive characteristics of the subject’s form and disposition are applied.
